Special Events Internship
The internship entails assisting the coordinator by shadowing and learning to manage and facilitate events. The responsibilities include having a working knowledge of social media marketing and maintaining the social media presence of the Astin Mansion. Assist in professional email communications with clients by scheduling meetings and tours. Overall having a positive attitude when interacting with clients, guests, and other staff members.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this internship would be a student currently enrolled in college or university who has a passion for the event industry. The intern should also possess wait staff etiquette. A requirement of the internship is working weekends and acquiring certification in Food Handling and TABC.

There are many benefits to interning at the Astin Mansion. The Astin Mansion internship is a paid position. As part of working at events, you'll work with multiple vendors, establishing connections and networks among caterers, florists, photography companies, etc. During my time at Astin Mansion, I got to work with D'Vine Cuisine, which was a good way to learn and network in the catering industry. My internship with Astin Mansion was made possible by their understanding and flexibility with my schedule between school and work.
Achievements:
While interning at the Astin Mansion, I have gained skills that I can apply to my future career in the event industry. I had little experience in this field going into the internship, but I was eager to learn. Through this internship, my accomplishments have been developing communication skills with clients and the ability to effectively communicate at events. During my internship at the Astin Mansion, I learned how to effectively utilize social media networks as I had no experience with social media before. Overall, I gained better self-confidence and understood the potential expectations in this industry.
